should be applied to the minor leagues as the majors and it seems that it may not be currently. It seems simple, but it would involve translating the AI's decision-making into some kind of standard news article or message. Your suggestion that a reason be given for a player being taken away is a good one, but I don't know how difficult that would be for Markus to implement. Although this isn't nearly as fun as managing a big league team, it's not a bad idea if you are playing in a fantasy league: running the league on auto for a decade or so tends to weed out the players with bugs after a while, and you will learn the broad strokes of both the majors and the minors as the games play out. Sooner or later your team should win enough games on automatic that you could earn a promotion. You could make a couple of trades or whatever. Otherwise, just set as many of the settings to automatic as you feel comfortable with and just autoplay out your seasons in the minors. If you do that, you will learn a lot a lot a lot about the coaches' jobs. Some people really like that, especially if you are playing out a season in real time. So you end up doing all of the work of all of the coaches. However, if you allow even one coach to operate on his own, the computer will just reset all of your work. If you like setting rosters and rotations manually, it's excellent practise. I agree that managing the low minors is powerfully frustrating. That way you have more control of your roster but still start at the bottom. You can play in a non US based league, like Mexico. I would imagine AAA teams, for example, are fairly stable, although the guys who are the parent club's 40-man roster are going to see movement during the season as injuries and trades happen at the ML level.īut, again, I don't know what should be "fixed" here. It must be insanely difficult to manage an A ball team to a winning record since good players don't last long.īut that volatility should also decrease as you manage at the higher levels. I would imagine that in A ball, there's probably a lot of volatility since guys who are really good won't spend much time there before moving up through the system. I'm also not sure how the frequency of minor league moves in OOTP compares to real life.

Personally, I've never tried to manage a minor league team, so I don't have any experience to draw on in my response. Have you asked about that on the forums? Someone might have some insight.
